Innovolt Inc (an ATDC company) is introducing its first patent-pending Current and Voltage Surge Suppressor (CVSS™) product into the market. The CVSS™ protects against both Voltage Surges and Current-Inrush surges caused by Voltage Sags. It is the first power protection device to provide protection against Voltage Surges, Current Surges and Over-Voltages.

Independent laboratory testing of the capabilities and performance of the CVSS™ has confirmed a dramatic reduction in the magnitude of current surges during voltage sags, as well as a corresponding reduction in damage inducing stresses in electronic devices. The testing of the CVSS™ has been performed with a variety of office, consumer and industrial equipment.

The use and effectiveness of CVSS™ does not require any alteration of the operation or of the usage of the equipment that is being protected.

The CVSS™ is not a replacement for an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). It is a complementary product. A UPS is not a protection device. A UPS instead provides back-up power, and the ability to "ride-through" partial power outages. The CVSS™ is a protection device, and will operate successfully to protect your equipment with or without a UPS.

CVSS™ protection can provide value in industrial, commercial, medical, office and consumer applications. The solutions are simple to use with no user training required. By providing Complete Power Protection™ in one package, it circumvents the question of whether voltage or current-inrush surges represent a bigger problem for a specific consumer.

The CVSS™ product is available as both a plug-in unit, as well as a hard-wired model. Current CVSS™ are available in current ratings of up to 15 A at a voltage of 120 V ac, with additional ratings due for release in late in 2007. The CVSS™ also has a data logger to record the actual power disturbances that it has protected against.
